A day in the life of a family safari is fluid, exciting, varied and full of special moments that will live on in family history for a lifetime. Our child specialist guides tailor their safaris to families for the duration of their stay, taking into consideration the age of the children and any special interests or requests, promoting a philosophy that embraces families in the wild.
Abrupt thunderstorms and short bursts of rain are expected throughout the day, creating a humid atmosphere. Daily temperatures typically average around 30°C, however the intermittent showers pleasantly cool down the temperatures.
October and November are our heartlands’ hottest months, with daytime temperatures reaching anywhere from 88°F (31°C) to upwards of 95°F (35°C). The clear skies, low humidity, and sparse vegetation make for clearer and more frequent animal sightings.

This was truly a 5+ star bucket list experience. We were treated with the utmost respect, generosity and kindness by every staff member. We appreciated the understated luxury, attention to detail, magnificent lodge decor, the on-the-Zambezi River setting, the phenomenal food, guides, trip to the epic Vic Falls and optional activities...
Julia K, March 2024Managing 23 travelers from California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Montana was difficult. Finding a camp in the Okavango was also difficult. Fortunately, I made contact with Vanessa Stanley, and she was able to assist in finding two camps that were proximal to each other, thus allowing a group of 23 to have meals and free time together and still be at a bush camp. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
