Learner Development Safari

9 nights

Our Impact safaris bring you along our journey as we strive to make a lasting impact in the areas, wildlife and communities around our camps. These safaris provide a unique opportunity to spend some time in the local community, learn about our foundation projects in the area and volunteer at some of our projects. These safaris seamlessly blend the best of Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia into one unforgettable adventure. You can experience the thrill of a lifetime as you explore the untamed beauty of Africa, encounter some of the world’s most incredible wildlife, and immerse yourself in the vibrant cultures and traditions of these awe-inspiring countries.

Our Learner development safari offers the unique opportunity to volunteer and serve at the local schools in Khwai, Maunga Village and Mambanje where we are actively investing in the schools through infrastructure development, nutritional programs and learning resources to improve the quality of learning at the schools.

As part of this booking, 10% will be donated to African Bush Camps Foundation, which will go towards funding the school projects.

We then journey to Zambia, where we are improving access to quality healthcare for the community and improving the quality of education. We will visit the Maunga clinic where we have improved access to quality healthcare for women in the community by building a clinic fully-equipped with a maternity ward. This clinic has significantly reduced the mortality rate for mothers and children during labour. In addition to this, we will visit Maunga Primary where we are supporting learners and teachers at the school through infrastructure improvements, access to educational resources and materials and launching the nutrition program. We wrap up the adventure in Zimbabwe by visiting the Mambanje and Dete communities just outside of the Hwange National Park, where our projects are actively investing in schools, communities and conservation to help mitigate human-wildlife conflict by educating, equipping and empowering communities living near national parks to co-exist with wildlife. The Impact Magazine

We wrapped up 2022 with this quote by C.S. Lewis: “Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be.” This quote is one of the truest reflections of what the past 24 months have been for us at African Bush Camps Foundation: It’s been making progress.

It’s been learning to crawl, walk, and run again. We have been leaning back into our core as an organisation and realigned ourselves and our projects so we can make a lasting and sustainable difference and impact in the communities and areas near our camps.

This impact magazine is the culmination of a lot of hard work and support by, the ABC family, our donors and the communities we support. It’s a reflection of how far we have come, an extension of our gratitude for the unwavering support we continue to receive and our encouragement to keep making progress.
