A haven of serenity on the banks of the awe-inspiring Zambezi River near Victoria Falls

Beautifully designed Thorntree River Lodge graces the banks of Zambia’s glorious Zambezi River in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. Seamlessly blending into the tranquil river-side setting, this eco-conscious haven draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of local African culture but with contemporary influences throughout. Just 20 min upstream from Victoria Falls, the lodge is perfectly positioned to enjoy the cascading spectacle nearby with a range of water-based activities.

Perching on the river edge are the twelve luxurious suites, four of which can be used as family suites with interleading walkways. Each suite boasts gorgeous indoor bathrooms including an additional outdoor shower, an intimate lounge area that sprawls out onto a private decking and a plunge pool. Designed to showcase the incredible river panoramas, the suites’ sliding glass panel walls and high-pitched canvas roofs exude a delightful sense of space, whilst the communal area compliments the lodge’s enviable setting. Spend your evenings sharing stories around the sunken boma and fire pit area or relax in the infinity pool that seamlessly blends into the river horizon.

Lying in such close proximity of Victoria Falls, we offer daily excursions to the Zambian side of The Falls where activities include bungee jumping, white water rafting, tiger fishing expeditions, private river cruises, helicopter rides and picnics on Livingstone Island. The perfect respite after a day of activities on the river, your stay at Thorntree River Lodge will be a holistic experience, ideal for quiet contemplation in a remarkably peaceful setting.

Activities include guided walking safaris, game drives, canoeing, catch and release fishing and boat cruises on a secluded section of the Zambezi River all led by our qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you. All activities are complimentary.

Discover majestic wildlife at every turn while on luxury safari in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park; these are some of the animals you can expect to see during your stay at Thorntree River Lodge.
