Women Empowerment Safari

9 nights

Impact Safari Overview

Our Women Empowerment Safari is an extraordinary nine-night journey through Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, where you’ll stay at three of our exceptional Experiences. This safari shines a spotlight on our women’s empowerment initiatives in the local communities we support, both at our Experiences and beyond.

Discover our Female Guides Program, a trailblazing initiative for equality in the safari industry. Local community members have the opportunity to be trained in travel, tourism, and hospitality, with no previous experience required.  Learn traditional singing, dancing, and basket weaving with the women of the Vuche Vuche initiative, all while supporting local artisans in their craft. Visit the women-led Maunga Clinic, gaining insights into advancing health equity in remote communities. Connect with the Dete Community, where women spearhead small businesses, such as fashion, jewelry-making, and sustainable projects like the Mambanje Community Garden.

Join us in making a real difference. Let’s continue to share and conserve Africa, together.

For each booking, USD 5,000 goes directly to the African Bush Camps Foundation to support the training, uniforms, and certification of a Female Guide.  We aim to train 25 Female Guides by the end of 2025.

This clinic has significantly reduced the mortality rate for mothers and children during labour. Visit this woman-run clinic to learn about the work we are doing in the community to support mothers and young teenagers with services that include family planning and preventing early teenage pregnancies. In addition to this, we will visit Maunga Primary where we will join the community women in preparing and serving meals to learners at the nutrition program. The Impact Magazine

We wrapped up 2022 with this quote by C.S. Lewis: “Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be.” This quote is one of the truest reflections of what the past 24 months have been for us at African Bush Camps Foundation: It’s been making progress.

It’s been learning to crawl, walk, and run again. We have been leaning back into our core as an organisation and realigned ourselves and our projects so we can make a lasting and sustainable difference and impact in the communities and areas near our camps.

This impact magazine is the culmination of a lot of hard work and support by, the ABC family, our donors and the communities we support. It’s a reflection of how far we have come, an extension of our gratitude for the unwavering support we continue to receive and our encouragement to keep making progress.
