Our Female Guides program aims to develop female safari guides through skills training, mentorship, job shadowing, and rotations at African Bush Camps. Our Female Guides program is a two-year program that offers theory, practical, and on-the-job training at ABC camps to become a safari guide.

Dete is a rural township located near the Hwange National Park Main Camp area. Located about a 20-minute drive from Dete is the Mambanje community which is a remote village comprising of just over 150 homesteads. The Mambanje Primary School has been one of the African Bush Camps Foundation’s passion projects for almost two decades.

A mokoro is a traditional canoe or dugout boat used in the African region of the Okavango Delta, particularly in Botswana. The term “mokoro” specifically refers to the boats used by the local people known as the Bayei and the BaYei people. These canoes are an essential mode of transportation in the waterways of the Okavango Delta.
