In July 2017, British Actress, Ellie Bamber came on safari with African Bush Camps and fell in love not only with African wildlife, but the people as well. She visited some of the projects run by the ABCF on the outskirts of Hwange National Park and was so inspired by the infectious spirit of the people and the foundation’s work that she became an ambassador
Ellie spent time visiting and learning about the partnerships and initiatives with the communities we are working to empower during a visit to Zimbabwe in 2017. The visit inspired her to assist with raising awareness of our work through unique opportunities she has by connecting with and inspiring many people and fans of her work.
Ellie visited Somalisa Camp in the famous Hwange National Park, and home to the lineage and legacy Cecil the Lion. During her visit she learned about our projects in the area including Community Empowerment, Conservation, Education and Community Infrastructure initiatives. Looking forward, Ellie will be working to run events and raise awareness in her endeavours around the world and will periodically return to Zimbabwe to visit the projects and see their progress.
We are very excited to have Ellie on board with the African Bush Camps Foundation. She has said of the collaboration, “The thing that really resonated with me is the fact they are helping people and animals simultaneously. It’s such a great cause and one I’m really passionate about.” Read the full post here on the African Bush Camps Foundation blog.
