Move for Education: Back-to-School 2024

The education programs run by The African Bush Camps Foundation aim to empower learners to thrive. By focusing on infrastructure improvements, nutrition programs, and providing learning materials to schools, the foundation is actively creating an environment at the schools that is conducive to learning and teaching. The goal is to ensure that there is an improvement in the quality of learning, which will in turn contribute to an increase in attendance, progression, and pass rate.

We are actively supporting five schools  in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia

  • Khwai Pre-school in Khwai, Botswana: There are 48 children, aged 1 to 6.
  • Kachikau Primary School Disability Unit in Linyanti, Botswana: We are helping 32 students at this school.
  • Maunga Primary School in Maunga Village, Zambia: There are 232 students from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to grade 7.
  • Mambanje Primary School in Mambanje Village, Zimbabwe: We support 110 learners from ECD to grade 7.
  • Mangwara Primary School in Mola, Zimbabwe: We are helping 300 students from ECD to grade 7.

Many schools do not have proper resources. Some learners in these areas have to share one textbook with four other learners, and in some cases, learners miss school because they lack stationery like pens.

Our impact in 2023

With your help, 2023 was a year of impact for our learners in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Zimbabwe through our stationery and nutrition program drives.

Last year, you supported our Active Day event to raise funds for our education programs and got behind Karl’s cycle challenge to raise funds for the Mambanje Primary School renovations. Together we have made a significant difference and impact in the lives of over 1000 learners.

Move for Education: Ensuring That No Child Gets Left Behind in 2024

We are determined to do more in 2024.  This year, we have put together the”Move for Education” initiative. Our goal is to equip 2000 learners across all our schools. This support includes the provision of stationary packs and daily meals.

We invite you to join us as we ‘Move For Education’ on the 8th of December.

  • Our team, trade, and business partners based in Cape Town will be embarking on a 5km run around the Waterfront.
  • Beks will be in Botswana at Khwai Lediba, guiding a group from Regenerative Travel on a walking safari to Khwai Pre-School, where we will be making donations and planting trees.
  • Our Head of Partnerships will be in Windhoek, Namibia, cycling to Swakopmund as his contribution to Move for Education. His objective is to provide 397 stationary packs, symbolizing each kilometer of the journey I will undertake.

We can all make a meaningful contribution, so regardless of your chosen activity, please mark December 8th as the day to make it count and join us as we Move for Education.
