Somalisa Acacia has two luxury tented suites and two luxury tented family suites that feature inter-connecting bedrooms. From the comfort of your own private viewing deck, watch as zebra, giraffe, and other wildlife gracefully saunter into view. All luxury tented suites include a wood-burning fireplace, a copper slipper-style bath, a lavish king-size bed, and an indoor and outdoor shower. Our family luxury tented suites are connected to the main area by a wooden boardwalk. Inside each suite, you’ll find two interconnected rooms; the children’s room, slightly cozier, features a privacy flap that can be drawn down for added seclusion between the two rooms. There are cots available for young children.

This was the third of our 3 country African Bush Camp safari trip, and what a fantastic way to end our dream tour. The camp was extremely comfortable, staffed by a fantastic team who could not do enough for the guests. Our meals were first class as was the wine. However, the main reason for booking the tour was for the safaris, and my goodness with our first class safari guide Dorphas we were not disappointed. We were privileged to see up-close the ‘big-five‘, as well as many other animals. The camp is situated opposite a water-hole, and every day it was visited by herds of elephants.
We spent 5 days in Somalisa Acacia camp. The experience we made was one of the best of our life! You cannot be closer to African wildlife than in this camp. The rooms are fantastic, the food is excellent and most of all, the people in the camp are just overwhelming. The name of our host was „Star“ and she truly deserves this name! She and the entire team do everything to make the customer experience an unforgettable one. I would not know what more I could have asked for!
This is my second stay with African Bush Camps, I must admit they some of the best camps across Africa.
Stayed in Somalisa Acacia Camp for 3 nights, it was an amazing experience. Hwange is paradise for Elephant lovers, with over 40000 elephants. you can see hundreds of elephants visiting waterhole facing the lounge area.
Our Guide Mike was extraordinary with an amazing knowledge of flora and fauna of park. The walking safaris with Mike was an experience of lifetime, words cannot describe it. The staff at Somalisa were superb, Richard is a fantastic host. The food was super tasty and belly full. I highly recommend Somalisa for a wonderful stay and safari experience.
The rooms are luxurious with a bath as well as indoor and outdoor showers. The wood fired fire-place inside the room was perfect for the cold temperatures we had during our July stay. Tents overlook a waterhole and while relaxing in the hammock on the tent’s deck, we saw a number of animals coming down to drink including elephant, sable antelope, kudu, waterbuck and others. The staff were wonderful and the food was excellent with our dietary requirements managed perfectly. Wildlife highlights included 2 prides of lion together on one day, one pride included almost 20 lions.

Thandanani, which means “love each other,” is a local sewing group run by women in the community of Dete, in Hwange. They make beautiful African print placemats, bags, robes, travel wallets, and clothes. Everything they make is unique and made with love. Items are available for sale at the ABC trading post in our camps.
The Vukani Group is a community of women who are making beautiful, handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, and napkin rings out of recycled magazines. This project takes items that we typically throw away and repurposes them into something beautiful. Items are available for sale at the ABC trading post in our camps.
The Mambanje community garden is empowering and enabling the community to grow and produce crops that they can harvest to feed their families and sell to generate economic activity. The garden has 50 beds 3x3m that can support 50 families.
