African Bush Camps appoints Maija de Rijk-Uys as Group Managing Director

African Bush Camps has appointed Maija de Rijk-Uys as Group Managing Director as the company enters its 20th year and continues to expand its multi-country operations.

Bringing extensive experience across corporate advisory, high-growth travel businesses and entrepreneurship, Maija has held senior roles at PwC, Travelstart and Go2Africa, and has served on the boards of South African Tourism and Cape Town Tourism. Her appointment reflects African Bush Camps’ evolution into a scaled, multi-country organisation focused on operational consistency, long-term growth and leadership depth.

In her new role, Maija will oversee daily operations across sales, marketing, finance, operations and the African Bush Camps Foundation, ensuring alignment across all markets. Founder and CEO Beks Ndlovu will continue to lead long-term strategy, vision, and external relationships.

Based in Cape Town, Maija officially assumed her role on 13 April 2026.
