Embrace Adventure and Discover Africa on This Unforgettable Zimbabwe Safari

Every wildlife encounter at Somalisa Expeditions is close up; mesmerizing and captivating.

Activities

At Somalisa Expeditions, embark on incredible morning and afternoon game drives and witness the beauty of Zimbabwe on immersive walking safaris.  Experience the remarkable in-camp Elephant Pool, a natural extension of the property (where the elephants come and drink in the heat of the day). Capture unforgettable moments from our dedicated photography hide, designed to enhance your safari with close up shots of magnificent wildlife. Additionally, experience a dreamy night under the starry night sky at Somalisa Sleep-Out – a romantic treehouse retreat overlooking a watering hole just fifteen minutes from camp.

Design

This Experience is seamlessly enveloped within its surroundings, featuring earthy hues of ochre and green. Its Zimbabwean influenced decor and organic textures showcase local art and craftsmanship. The cozy lounge invites relaxation – perfect for reading, drawing and journaling – while the spacious dining table offers an ideal setting for shared meals among friends and family. A refreshing plunge pool in the main area provides a cool escape, and a fully equipped bar ensures your favorite drinks are always within reach. In the evenings, share stories of your day’s adventures around the fire, enjoying the warmth and connection under the starlit sky.

Luxury Accommodation

With five luxury tents and one luxury family tent, Somalisa Expeditions offers an intimate safari experience by combining luxury and comfort with the beauty of the African bush. Each luxury tent is set atop a wooden deck, raised above the ground to provide breathtaking views of the surroundings.  Their interior is equipped with a king size bed draped in mosquito netting (the smaller room of the luxury family tent has two single beds with mosquito netting), an indoor shower, in-room charging facilities, and a wooden writing desk.

At Somalisa Expeditions, relax in luxury, embrace adventure, and discover Africa; real and remote.

    Raw, Real and Beautifully Wild

Somalisa Expeditions is a special place that offers a genuine and immersive safari experience. The camp strikes a perfect balance between comfort and authenticity, with a beautiful setting that lets you truly feel connected to the bush. The team was outstanding, warm, knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and the land. Game drives were rich with sightings, and relaxing back at camp with elephants visiting the nearby waterhole was unforgettable. If you are looking for a safari that feels personal, grounded and deeply rewarding, this is the place.

    Elephant, elephants…

We had a great 3 night stay at Somalisa. The warm, sweet welcome, enthusiasm and friendliness, breakfast by the fire, the cozy joint dinners and the super game drives with Moreni… it will stay with us all. The daily visits of the elephants in the camp were an unforgettable experience. In short, we really enjoyed our stay at Somalisa! Thank you

    Fabulous camp!

This was a father/daughter Safari for us and what a great camp. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and customer focused. While a bit disappointed with the number of animals in Hwange, we did experience a fabulous leopard sighting and a gorgeous male lion our last day. Kudos to our guide Clement who made our experience all the better with his knowledge, friendliness, and humor. What a great camp!
