Lolebezi screams luxury Safari, one of my favorite camps in Lower Zambezi. From the lively welcome by the staff to the gorgeous room, excellent service, and perfectly cooked meals. There was not a single thing I did not like. We had a wonderful game drive with the most beautiful view of the sunset for our sundowners. Looking forward to going back!
It is one of the best lodges in Lower Zambezi National Park. I fell in love with Lolebezi right from the welcome singing and dancing by the team to the food and the game activities, including a boat safari with a female guide! And to my surprise, a paramedic who is always on site to help in case of any health-related issues.
I’ve been to Africa before, though not often enough to call myself a frequent visitor. But I’ve stayed at several lodges, each with its own charm and strengths. Lolebezi, though—this place does it all, and does it flawlessly. From the stunning accommodations to the incredible dining, from the staff to the guides, every detail was perfect. It was worth every bit of time and effort to reach this gem along the river in Lower Zambezi National Park.

The Maunga primary school is the only primary school in Maunga village and currently accommodates 177 learners from ECE to grade 7. The school has three teachers including the principal. To date, we have painted the nursery classroom and the ablution blocks, provided learning materials and textbooks, installed solar power and burglar bars for the computer lab, and fixed all the windows at the school.
Access to quality and affordable health care facilities and services remains a challenge for many rural communities in Zambia. The nearest clinic in Maunga is 20KM (12.2 miles) away from the community, a distance which is often travelled by foot to access health care. Poor infrastructure, a lack of resources, a shortage of basic medical supplies, and a shortage of skilled healthcare workers remain a challenge at these medical facilities.
Thandanani, which means “love each other,” is a local sewing group run by women in the community of Dete, in Hwange. They make beautiful African print placemats, bags, robes, travel wallets, and clothes. Everything they make is unique and made with love. Items are for sale at the ABC trading post in our camp.
